Work on the new Fauquier County history book is on schedule, with the revised manuscript delivered to members of the Fauquier Historical Society sub-committee receiving their copies for final review on January 22, 2008.
Extensive editing and re-writing have been done by Walter Nicklin and John Toler; Nicklin wrote an all-new final chapter dealing with the years 1950 to 2008. In addition, more than 70 new photo images and graphics were added to the photographs originally provided.
Pending discussions with officials at George Mason University, who provided the original manuscript, a plan to get the book published and production schedule will be determined. The book, which is part of the 250th anniversary of the founding of Fauquier County, will be available later this year or in early 2009, when the celebration begins.
