Battle of Thoroughfare Gap Commemoration at Chapman/Beverley Mill
When: 9:00 – 6:00 p.m. with tours at 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 5:30 p.m.
Tour the ground in the Bull Run Mountains where the Federal defeat led to the dramatic Confederate victory at Second Manassas. Tour guides include noted Civil War historians Childs Burden, Jim Burgess and Bruce Slawter. Experience the First Virginia Cavalry Confederate re-enactors. The Old Jail turned 200 years old in 2008 and to celebrate, we want you to take a close look at what we have to offer . . . a really close look!
Come to the Old Jail Museum and see if you can correctly identify all of the items pictured on one of our Old Jail Challenge sheets!
The Old Jail Challenge is open to visitors of all ages.
